Hailing from Seattle, WA, Cesar Cueva has been inspired his whole life by cartoons . He is a painter, comic book artist, muralist, and a writer. He is currently studying in the medium that has so inspired him.
While studying to become an animator, he created Art of the Cartoon in order to remind and inspire himself on why he decided to go back to school in the first place. Since its inception, Art of the Cartoon has morphed into just not a reminder and an inspiration of his goal of working in the animation field, but also a place where animation, comics, cartoons, etc can also be used as a metaphor for life struggles and a way to empower folks (even if it is just himself) through cartoons. However, the main intent is still to inspire and educate others on the art form that is the cartoon, hence Art of the Cartoon.
Along the way, he will mix in a heavy dose of some of his other inspirations including pop culture, politics, sports, music, community organizing, running, etc. all in the point of view of a 2nd generation Filipino living in America (which he is).
Many times, cartoons get overlooked as a viable art form, Art of the Cartoon aims to change that.
